Your letter should answer three questions: why this profession, why this company and what already fits you? You do not have to sound “super professional”. Clear and honest is stronger.
A simple structure
- Say which apprenticeship you are applying for.And where you found it.
- Explain why the profession interests you. What do you like about it?
- Show what already fits.A placement, school subject, hobby or personal strength.
- Make a link to the company. Why do you want to train there?
- Finish simply. No need for an essay.
Opening
More directI am applying for your Mediamatics apprenticeship starting in August 2027, which I found on the apprenticeship platform.
Why this profession?
An example from a work placement is ideal: what did you enjoy, what did you discover and what would you like to learn more about?
Strengths without boasting
With an exampleI have been responsible for preparing equipment before training and matches at my football club for two years.
Why this company?
Look at the company website and find one real reason. One genuine sentence is enough; you do not need to repeat the entire About page.
How long?
Short, clear sentences are better than lots of text. If a sentence could be used for ten employers by changing only the company name, it is probably too generic.
Keep the letter with your CV
