Apprenticeship application documents: what should you attach?

The CV and cover letter are only part of the application. Here is what usually belongs in the supporting documents and how to organise it.

In short

An apprenticeship application normally includes a cover letter, CV and the supporting documents requested by the employer. These may include school reports, placement reports and aptitude-test results. Always read the job posting first.

What might you need?

School reports

Scan or photograph them cleanly, in colour and with all pages readable. If there are several reports, put the newest first.

Placement reports

A good report shows that you have already had a real look at the profession. Keep confirmations and feedback from your placements.

Prepare clean PDFs

Swiss career guidance recommends grouping documents of the same type, for example all school reports in one PDF.
